Parking Lot Rules and Regulations Agreement
By parking in the student lots, you have agreed to the following rules & regulations:
• I will FOLLOW ALL STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS REGARDING THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
• I will remain "Hands Free," and follow "Image Display Device" Laws regarding the use of electronic devices.
• I will NOT sell, lend, copy, or rent, etc. my permit to any other student or allow another student to drive my registered vehicle.
*It is to be used by YOU and YOU only. YOU MUST BE THE DRIVER of the vehicle registered on the Permit Request Form. If your permit is displayed in any vehicle not listed on your Permit Request Form, EVEN IF YOU ARE IN THE VEHICLE, your permit will be suspended.
• I will NOT alter or tamper with my permit or the numbers on it.
• I will NOT drive in any sort of reckless manner (speeding, hanging out of the vehicle, passing in the lot etc.).
• I will park my vehicle in the lot designated by my permit.
• I will NOT move or drive around any barricade or coned-off area.
• U-turns on the Bypass or entering other PA parking lots is PROHIBITED.
• I will take responsibility for my permit.
*If your permit is lost or stolen, you must report it to the appropriate office immediately. There will be a waiting period of 30 days before a replacement is issued.
• I will hand my permit to any administrator/security monitor when asked without arguing and will not park on campus until my permit is returned.
*You will be called to the office to discuss your violation the following day.
• I will NOT be tardy 9 or more times ...
*Students who accumulate nine (9) tardies per term, will have their parking privileges revoked for a minimum of two weeks.
• I will hang my permit on the rearview mirror and will leave it hanging during the school day.
• I will NOT re-park my car.
• I will follow the directions of all monitors and crossing guards while entering and exiting the lot.
• I will merge into a single line of traffic and will yield to vehicles exiting a parking space to exit in a safe manner.
• I will park my vehicle BETWEEN TWO lines in the lot. *If there is not a line on either side of your vehicle, you are not in a parking space and may be towed at your expense. Motorcycles must be parked in a motorcycle parking location.
• I will NOT let passengers into or out of my vehicle after I have left a parking space or before I get to a space.
• I will NOT cross Bypass 28 in any location other than the crosswalks or jump any fence to enter the lot.
Additional Regulations that will result in a loss of parking permit:
•Parking lot speed limit is 5 mph.
• Students are NOT PERMITTED to return to their vehicle without a proper dismissal.
If you do not have your permit with you or if your permit has been suspended, you are not permitted to park on campus. If you do, your vehicle may be towed at your expense.
• If your driver's license is suspended or revoked for any reason, your permit will be as well. You will receive your permit back when the senior office visually sees a valid license.
• ALL vehicles are subject to search once they are on the Pinkerton Academy property.
• Students who accumulate 3 or more lot violations may not be eligible to receive a permit the following year.
• Permits may be revoked/suspended for not adhering to any policy listed in the Student Planner.
Parking on school property is a privilege and therefore the Administration has the right to deny the request for a permit at the time the request is made.
In the event a vehicle search turns up weapons, alcohol, drugs and/or other contraband prohibited on or near school grounds (including tobacco/vaping products), in addition to a suspension, the student's parking permit will be revoked for the remainder of the school year without a refund.
I fully understand and agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by Pinkerton Academy which allows me the privilege of parking on school property. I understand that parking on school property is a privilege and that if I do not adhere to these regulations that I will lose the privilege without a refund. I further understand that I park on school property at my own risk and assume the responsibility of all objects and passengers located in my vehicle.
Signing this document serves as my formal warning for all lot violations. Violations will result in a minimum two (2) days loss of my permit and the ability to park on Pinkerton Academy property. Only days in which I am present on campus will count as the days my permit is suspended. I have read and understand all the regulations and criteria necessary to receive a Pinkerton Academy student parking permit.
By signing this you hereby acknowledge the Pinkerton Academy Parking lot rules and regulations.
