YRBS

On Friday, October 29th, students at Pinkerton Academy will take part in the 2021 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) sponsored by the New Hampshire Department of Education and Health and Human Services. The survey will ask about health behaviors of students such as nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use. It will also ask about behaviors that can lead to pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. According to the NH Department of Health and Human Services, “the data from the YRBS are used by health departments, schools, and local area agencies to define areas of health risk and to secure the resources necessary to address any identified issues.” The survey should take about 35 minutes to complete.

All responses will be anonymous; no personally identifiable information will be requested or provided. No students’ or school names will ever be mentioned in a results report. For survey results to be accurate, it is important that all students are given an opportunity to participate, but the survey is voluntary, and your child does not have to participate. Also, students may skip any questions they do not wish to answer. Finally, students may stop taking the survey at any point without penalty.
