Board of Trustees 2024-2025
Pinkerton Academy is governed by a Board of Trustees (up to 18 members) who volunteer their time and expertise. By contract, each sending town is represented on the Board by a minimum of one trustee. The Head of School handles operations of the school under the direction of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. William A. Nevious
President
B.S., M.S., Ph. D -- Derry
Dr. Nevious has held various roles in higher education, including two college presidencies and a term as provost. He is currently the president and CEO of HigherEdExec, a consulting group based out of the Boston area. The Board’s focus under his leadership has been to expand Pinkerton’s fundraising potential with the implementation of the Advancement Department and to continually assess and improve upon the physical structure of the school.
Outside of these roles Nevious is an accomplished drummer. He was a founding member of the band Egyptian Combo which became popular in the 1960s, especially in the Midwest.
Nevious is an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal. Check out this video highlighting the Screaming Eagles Combo of which Nevious was a member. Rolling Stone Magazine called them "the Rock Band the U.S. Enlisted to Help Win the Vietnam War."
The proud father of four children, two graduates from Pinkerton in 2008 and 2015, he lives in Derry with his wife Kristen.
Mr. Mark A. Wright, Esq.
1st Vice-President
B.S., M.I.P., J.D. -- Member at Large
An attorney with McLane Middleton, Mr. Wright is a director and chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. He has admission to the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bar Associations as well as the U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire. He has been recognized in his field as one of the best lawyers, both regionally and nationally.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, Wright has served as the Chair of the Contract Negotiation Committees for Hooksett, Candia, and Derry. He currently serves on the Trustee, Education, and Compensation Committees.
In his free time, Wright enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and focusing on health and fitness.
Mr. Kevin W. Stuart, Esq.
2nd Vice-President
B.A., MPA, J.D -- Auburn
An attorney with Bernard & Merrill, Mr. Stuart is a managing partner, specializing in defending workers' compensation matters for insurance carriers and employers. He has admission to the New Hampshire and Maine Bar Associations as well as the U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire. He is a past chair of the N.H. Bar Association Workers' Compensation Section and a current member of the N.H. Bar Association Legislation Committee.
In the local community, Stuart is a member of the Town of Auburn's Zoning Board and is a former chair of the Town of Hillsborough's Conservation Commission. Stuart has hiked all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000+ foot mountains and enjoys running the trails around Massabesic lake in his free time.
Mr. Mark J. Laliberte
Secretary
B.A., MPA -- Candia
Mr. Laliberte is a business recruitment manager for the NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs. He holds a bachelor of arts in political science and a master's degree in public administration, both from the University of New Hampshire. Along with the Board of Trustees, Laliberte serves as a commissioner on the NH Higher Education Commission.
Laliberte and his wife live in Candia with their two children, who they greatly look forward to seeing attend Pinkerton in a few years. Laliberte is a self-proclaimed "politics nerd." He has run numerous campaigns, worked for elected officials, and has served both as a county and local officeholder. He also avidly follows elections - from international to local races. Laliberte also enjoys running, hiking, and travel.
Mr. Adam J. Mead
Treasurer
B.S., MBA -- Derry
CEO and Chief Investment Officer at Mead Capital Management, LLC and founder of WatchlistInvesting.com, he recently published The Complete Financial History of Berkshire Hathaway: A Chronological Financial Analysis of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger's Conglomerate Masterpiece (Harriman House, 2021).Mr. Mead is also a very active member of the Greater Derry community. He is a member of the Derry Rotary Club.
A graduate from the Pinkerton Academy class of 2004, Mead is also a member of the Pinkerton Alumni Association. He enjoys reading and learning, especially business history and biographies. He says he still wants to be an astronaut when he "grows up" and looks forward to watching his children graduate from Pinkerton Academy in 2033 and 2034.
Dr. Sandra F. Truebe
Officer at Large
B.S., M.D. -- Candia
Dr. Truebe is a pediatrician who loves spending time outdoors with her family. She loves sailing, hiking, biking, cross country and downhill skiing, and Nordic skating. Whenever possible, she brings along her dog Luna.
Dr. Timothy J. Butterfield
B.S., D.V.M. -- Derry
Dr. Butterfield is a veterinarian at Windham Animal Hospital, which he founded in 1975. He has served in several leadership roles both in his professional career and community involvement. He has served as president of the NH Veterinary Medical Association, Pinkerton Academy Board of Trustees, Green Mountain Horse Association, and the Derry Rotary.
Butterfield breeds horses and is known to drive his horse-drawn carriage around Derry. He enjoys hiking, reading and travelling. Both he and his wife graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1965. They are the proud parents of three Pinkerton graduates from the classes of 1990, 1993, and 1996. He enjoys being part of an extended family and the joy of grandchildren.
Dr. Scott Copeland
B.S., DDS, M.S. -- Derry
Dr. Copeland is a retired orthodontist and also serves as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club. He is the proud father of four Pinkerton graduates from the classes of 1993, 1994, 2004, and 2007. He is an active skydiver with over 2,300 jumps.
Dr. Michael W. Delahanty
B.A., M. Ed., CAGS, Ed. D. -- Hampstead
Dr. Delahanty’s career in education has been varied and noteworthy. He started as a teacher in Standish, Maine in 1980 where he worked for seven years before joining the Salem School District as a principal in 1987. In his time in Salem he served as principal of North Salem School, Woodbury School, and Salem High School. From 2002-2004 he was Assistant Superintendent of the district before being named Superintendent, a position he held until his recent retirement.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Life Management and is a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Salem. He has received many awards for his contributions to the greater community, most recently including the Michael Downing Humanitarian Award, the Paul Harris Fellow recognition from the Rotary, and the William Brown Businessperson of the Year Award from the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. His son graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 2007.
Ms. Julie Demers
B.A., MPA -- Auburn
Currently the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Tech Alliance, Ms. Demers has had a varied career, establishing her as a respected professional with diverse experience. Demers has held various positions in public relations and technology; however, her experience at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce helped her discover her passion for community building.
Demers serves as a member of several boards including the University of New Hampshire IT Advisory Board, the New Hampshire State Workforce and Innovation Board, the University of New Hampshire Paul College BIP Advisory Board, and the Currier Museum of Art Advisory Board. She was recognized in 2015 as a member of the New Hampshire Union Leader’s 40 Under Forty Class. Demers lives in Auburn with her husband and two children.
Dr. Bonnie L. Eckerman
B.S., MSPT, DPT -- Chester
Dr. Eckerman is a pediatric physical therapist. As an extension of her work, she works closely with an organization in Rwanda called Love with Actions that empowers mothers of children with disabilities. She helped to start their physical therapy program for children with severe disabilities and is able to use her French skills in translating and communicating, whether travelling or working remotely.
Eckerman graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1993. Her husband graduated in 1991. They live in Chester with their four children who will also graduate from Pinkerton in 2020, 2023, 2025, and 2026. Eckerman finished her first half marathon in the fall of 2019.
Mrs. Elise L. Harnisch
B.S. -- Hooksett
An active member of the Hooksett community, Mrs. Harnisch is a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan in Bedford. Previously she also worked as a CPA. Her career background has given her diverse knowledge that drives her focus to work for the greater good. With extensive volunteer and community service experience, Harnisch is passionate about supporting the needs of all children. She has served on the Boards of the New Hampshire Hospital for Children, the Hooksett PTA, as well as the Granite State Children's Alliance and was a Rotarian for many years.
Harnisch lives in Hooksett with her husband and two children, one of whom is currently attending Pinkerton and the other who looks forward to attending in future years. An avid equestrian and homesteader, she loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
Dr. Christopher Harper
B.A., M. Ed., CAGS, Ed.D -- Member at Large
Dr. Harper was a well-respected member of the Pinkerton Academy faculty for nearly 40 years. He began his tenure as a Biology teacher in 1978, becoming the Science Department Chair in 1990. From 2005 to 2016, he was the Dean of Academic Affairs. Outside of Pinkerton Academy, Dr. Harper served as the Interim Executive Director of NHASCD from 2017-2018 and currently acts as an Independent Educational Consultant.
While at Pinkerton, Harper chaired and served on numerous committees which afforded him opportunities to work with faculty, students and their families, and the sending school communities. In 2014 Harper was recognized by the NHASCD with the Excellence in Outstanding Leadership Award. He is a three-time winner of the Pinkerton Academy Shepard Award, twice as a faculty member and once as an administrator. He was named the Pinkerton Academy Student Council Teacher of the year in 1992, elected to the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame in 2019, and awarded the Trustees Meritorious Service Award in 2010. He and his wife live in Chester; their daughter graduated from Pinkerton in 2012.
Mr. John C. hobden, P.E.
B.A., MBA -- Chester
Mr. Hobden is vice president of Granite State Plumbing & Heating, LLC. In his role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the construction department of the company.
Hobden graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1998. He has two sons, a 2024 Pinkerton graduate and a member of the Pinkerton Class of 2026. In his spare time, Hobden enjoys woodworking. His current projects are taken from tree to finished product.
Mr. David R. Smith
B.A., MBA, MS
Mr. Smith has a rich and varied professional background. As the Director of Global Data Governance at New Balance Athletics, Inc., he has led the design and implementation of a comprehensive global data governance framework, enhancing digital transformation initiatives across multiple areas. Before joining New Balance, Mr. Smith held significant positions at BAE Systems, including Business Integration & Planning Manager and Supply Chain Manager. His tenure there was marked by his ability to lead global teams, enhance operational standards, and streamline processes.
Smith served in the United States Navy from 1994-1999. He previously served as the Chair and as a member of the Hampstead School Board. He is the current president of Hampstead Hearts, a non-profit organization that supports local community needs. He lives in Hampstead with his wife Sara and their four daughters: one a Pinkerton graduate, one a current student, and two future Astros.
