Winter 2024-25

12/23/24 - 12/29/24

Junior, Mollie Wheale

In week 2 of the indoor track and field season, Mollie competed and scored in four events, showing strength and versatility. Against 12 teams at Plymouth State University on Saturday, Mollie placed 3rd in the 55m hurdles, 4th in the 300m, 5th place in shot put, and helped her team win the 4x100m relays. All with an outstanding attitude, Mollie consistently trains hard and is willing to make it work when it comes to balancing all of her various events. - Coach Mike Karthas

Senior, Preston Libby

Preston scored all six of our goals against Hanover on Wednesday (12/18). This feat tied an all-time school record for most goals in a single game. He's a hardworking, senior, left-wing forward. Fall 2024

10/29/2024 - 11/3/2024

Junior, Sarah Urban

Sarah has thrown the hardest tumbling passes and carries the most difficult routine for PAVC. She performs every second of the routine and delivers with incredible energy and effort. She empowered and energized the team prior to taking the floor with a few incredible words to remind us all of our mission. Sarah absolutely delivered her 3 minutes and helped the team capture 1st place at Cap City. She is exceptionally selfless in the pursuit of excellence and embodies what it means to be PAVC.

 

 

 
 

 

 

Junior Captain, Gabby Bedard

Gabby earned a huge PR at the Meet of Champions on Saturday to help the Astros qualify for New England's. Her amazing performance the week before, finishing 8th overall as our first finisher helped the Astros capture the 2024 NH D1 Championship by a single point.  Her leadership has been outstanding all season.  She gave an especially moving inspirational speech that helped propel the Astros to their 3rd straight D1 title!

 

 

 
 

 

 

Junior, Madison Andrade

Madison, an outside hitter, played a pivotal part in the two victories this past week in the preliminary round and quarter finals. Against Spaulding in the prelims, Madison led the Astros with 15 service points and 4 aces and also collected 5 kills and 2 blocks. In the quarterfinals against Salem, Madison led Pinkerton with 15 service points and 10 kills, while also having strong games in passing and serve receive.

 

 
 

 

 

Sophomore, Sydney Mlynarski

Sydney made five saves in the Astros preliminary playoff game against Salem. More impressively. She made 10 saves against Bedford shutting them out through double overtime. She also made two penalty kick saves in a penalty kick shootout that launched her team to the semifinals. These two shutouts mark the 7th and 8th shutout in a row for Pinkerton.

Senior, Kayla Silveira

Kayla Silveira had two assists against Salem in her senior game Thursday night. She is always working hard in the center midfield to control possession, and give her teammates scoring opportunities. She was also a workhorse in a nail biter against Portsmouth in which the Astros won 1-0. 

 
 

 

 

10/14/2024 - 10/20/2024

Junior, Brady Cuneo

Brady shot a (+4) 76 in the qualifying round of the NHIAA state championship on Tuesday, 10/15 at Canterbury Woods CC.  He was one of 16 golfers to qualify for the final round at Beaver Meadow on Saturday, 10/19.  At Beaver Meadow, Brady shot a (+16) 88.  He finished 15th in the state out of all DI golfers.
 

 

 

Sophomore, Audrey Earehart

Audrey Earehart scored in both games this week. She had a PK against Dover, and a great finish against Nashua South. Playing center midfield, she is continuously opening up chances on offense, and really improving throughout her first varsity season.

Senior, EJ Baker

EJ shot a 39 in the last match of the season to help the Astros take 2 out of 3.  EJ has been a consistent presence at the top of the lineup all year for the team.
 

 

 

Senior, Calli Miller

Calli led a strong week for the Astro Girls Volleyball team with wins over Bishop Guertin and Exeter. Calli was targeted in serve receive and came up big defensively. She also came up with the big clutch hits that helped lead the Astros to two victories.
 

 

 

Senior, Ava Mohammed

Ava has had an historic season so far. She has earned a Personal Record time in all NINE meets so far. Every race she has run faster than the one before!  This is an unprecedented accomplishment.  It's a testament to her consistency, hard work, and relentlessness out on the XC course.  She's also a tremendous Captain, is incredibly caring, and a wonderful role model for the entire team.  
 

 

 

9/23/2024 - 9/29/2024

Junior, Aaliyah Gooden

Aaliyah had an outstanding week leading her team to two big victories over Portsmouth and Londonderry. She dominated the net by collecting 14 kills and 10 blocks during the week. Her constant presence at the net was intimidating and led to a very successful week. In the second set against Londonderry Aaliyah led the comeback with 5 kills and 3 blocks in that set alone. -  Head Coach, Todd Royce

 

Senior, Ethan Bellows

Senior Captain Ethan Bellows is one of the best players on the team and has proven it throughout the season. Even though he doesn't have a lot of  statistics to show this, his performances are outstanding. He has given our team tremendous and numerous opportunities to score goals this year. Sophomore, Sookie Folsom

Sookie won both of the races this week. She helped propel Pinkerton to victory at the Mack Plaque on Tuesday and on Saturday at the Kennett Invitational.  Her consistently spectacular performances are a huge reason why Pinkerton cross country has had such a successful start to the season.

Senior, Phoenix Beaulieu

 In the only game of the week, Phoenix was able to assist on both goals to help the Astros defeat Memorial. Phoenix has shown such improvement each and every week this season. The Astros now stand at 3-1-1 on the season.

Gwen Lee

Field Hockey, Sophomore

Lee scored her first two Varsity goals against Memorial-Central and supported the Astros offensive presence with multiple breakaways and shot selections.

Matt Morrison

Football, Senior

Matt tallied 4 touchdowns in a season-opening 40-17 win against Andover, MA. He amassed 318 yards of total offense with 218 yards on the ground and 80 yards receiving.  His 318-yard performance is 2nd most all-time in Pinkerton Academy history.

Camryn McNulty

Soccer, Sophomore

McNulty has been working at playing multiple positions. She started as a fullback in the team's first game, even though she played center mid-all last year. She did great in controlling the outside and helping control possession. McNulty scored the first goal of the season for the Astros in a victory over Central.

 

 

Rolston Ladd

Soccer, Junior

On opening day vs. Central, Rolston made multiple outstanding saves to keep the Astros in the game. His stellar play in net helped the Astros to a 1-1 draw to open the season.

SPRING 2024

June 03, 2024 - June 09, 2024

Elijah Sharp
Baseball, Senior

The senior catcher had a great week at the plate helping the Astros win the NHIAA Division 1 State Championship. Sharp collected three hits against Nashua North including a huge lead-off double in the bottom of the 9th which came around to score the walk off run in the semifinal game. He then continued to stay hot in the championship game, reaching safely in all three of his plate appearances. He collected a hit, two walks and an RBI to help Pinkerton claim their second title in three years.

Isabelle Groulx
Girls Outdoor Track, Senior

The senior captain capped off her outstanding Pinkerton career at the New England Championship running on the 4x800m relay. The squad was the first New Hampshire team to finish. Her leadership, work ethic, and determination have been exemplary. She leaves behind an amazing legacy.

Kevin Rheaume
Unified Track, Senior

Rheaume finished in first place in the shot put with a throw of 37’ 1” at the Unified Track State Championship.

Contessa Silva
Girls Outdoor Track, Sophomore

Silva anchored the State Champion 4x800m relay team at the Meet of Champions.  In the process, they also smashed the school record by 8 seconds. She topped off her historic day by finishing 2nd in the 3200m. Her leadership and dedication has been exemplary throughout her four years at Pinkerton.

Matthew Gormady
Boys Lacrosse, Sophomore

Gormady totaled 8 goals and 2 assists in a 1-1 week for the Astros as they concluded their regular season. He finished the regular season with a team leading 39 goals as the Astros earned the four seed in the upcoming playoffs.

Girls Lacrosse, Sophomore

Doyle scored 4 goals in a big game against Souhegan while balancing a tough defensive assignment.

May 13, 2024 - May 19, 2024

Charles Franks
Boys Outdoor Track, Junior

Franks had career bests in both the javelin and discus at the Londonderry Invite on Saturday. He placed second in javelin with 158' 2" and another top 10 finish with 125' 1". He also won javelin while taking 5th in discus on Tuesday at Dover. He will compete in both next Saturday at the D1 State Championship with point scoring aspirations.

Eva Roberts
Girls Outdoor Track, Senior

Roberts had a personal bests in the 100m dash to finish 2nd, long jump to finish 3rd, the 200m to finish 4th, and was on the winning and state record 4x100 at the Londonderry Invite. She also won three events on Tuesday at Dover.

Jackson Marshall
Baseball, Senior

Marshall had a monster week to help the Astros go 3-0 on the week. He went 7 for 10 with a walk and 6 RBI. At Merrimack he hit a 2 run home run that landed on top of the school for his 5th home run of the season, and is currently leading the Astros offense with a .564 batting average, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored.

Girls Lacrosse, Junior

 

DiClemente tied a single-game record previously held by Lauren Sweeny with 17 saves on Saturday in a big game against out-of-state Chelmsford, ranked #5 in Massachusetts. Earlier in the week she held Dover to zero goals in the first quarter, allowing 2 goals that game and 3 saves.

Stingel went 43/54 (80%) at the faceoff X last week, while also adding 2 goals and 1 assist in a 3-0 week for the Astros.

Caruso got her second save against Keene pitching 3 innings, 1 hit, 1 run - unearned, and followed it up pitching against Londonderry to earn her third win with a stat line of 5 hits, 1 run, 4 walks, 15 k’s.

Layne led the volleyball team with 12 kills against Londonderry in the sole game of the week. He also added 6 digs and 1 ace in the match.

Hiscox went 6 for 10 with 2 RBI’s, and set the table in the late innings to set up the wins against Salem and Goffstown.

Cioffi brought a perfect game into the 7th inning in Pinkerton’s 6-0 win over South. He led the 7th inning off with a strikeout and then surrendered a walk to allow South's first base runner with 1 out in the 7th. He finished the day with 6.1 innings pitched, allowed 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 walk while striking out 10.

Trask won discus at the Nashua North Invitational on Saturday with a throw of 97' 1", while also placing 8th in the javelin.

Summers finished the week with 9 goals and 6 assists to help the Astros Boys Lacrosse team to a 2-1 record.

Lisauskas had 6 goals, 6 assists, and 12 points on the week, caused a turnover and shot 67%. She was instrumental in scoring two huge goals against Portsmouth, and her leadership has also been tremendous.

Packowski opened up his senior season with wins in both the shot put and discus, and a second place finish in the javelin. The throws captain hit personal records in both wins with 45’ 9” in shot put and 131’ 5” in discus.

Gorrie won her singles match in dominant fashion 8-1 and her doubles match 8-4 to help the Astros win their season opener.

Sarah Urban
Winter Spirit, Sophomore

Urban had a performance that was second to none from start to finish. Her level of energy and excitement is visual even through the video. Her stunts were perfect and her tumbling was top tier.  She really delivered and helped to capture our New England title, and was instrumental in the team’s undefeated year.

Emma Yennaco
Winter Spirit, Freshman

Yennaco had an outstanding day on Saturday for the team. She carries the tumbling score throwing 3 elite passes throughout the routine. She learned a new basket toss that gives us maximum points as well. As a rookie she has stepped to the plate for PAVC, really enhancing her performance ability as well as her skillset, while helping PAVC earn both the 34th state title and 14th New England Championship title this season.

Brander had 26 points and 10 rebounds to help his team win the NHIAA D1 State Championship on Sunday.

Ashlynn Miller
Winter Spirit, Sophomore

Miller stole the show with her incredible energy-packed performance and perfect skill set. With a few small issues at Prelims, she came back with a vengeance at States and really helped to carry the performance for PAVC. As a flyer and an elite tumbler for our team, her 3 minutes is pressure-filled. Her perfect routine helped us to capture title #34.

Boys Ice Hockey, Junior

Connors scored the playoff game-winning goal against the Manchester Kings on Wednesday. He also assisted on the game-tying score that helped to secure overtime for the Astros.

Girls Indoor Track, Senior

Silva anchored the 9:27.27 4th place 4x800 team at the New England Championship on Saturday. She ran an impressive 2:18 split to help her team not only place 4th but break the New Hampshire State Record by over ten seconds. She followed it up by placing 9th in the 2 mile, running a personal best 11:18.18.

Hazel Jean Tracy
Girls Swimming, Sophomore

Tracy set two new team records and was part of a third. She defended her state championship in the breaststroke beating her own record. She set a record in the 200 IM and was part of a record-setting 200 medley relay.

Anna Martin

Martin came in 3rd in the individual all around at the New Hampshire state championship meet this past weekend with a 37.3. This score was her season high in the all around. She received 3rd on Vault with a 9.4, 4th on Bars with a 9.35, 6th on Beam with a 9.225, and 10th on Floor with a 9.325. All of her event scores counted towards the winning state championship team score.

Boys Ice Hockey, Junior

Libby tallied 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 total points in three games last week. He has been an integral component in the Astros' attack all season, and specifically in this past week, he contributed on 70% of the Astros' overall scoring. Without surprise, he leads the team in goals (16) and in points (21).

Dupuis scored 19 points in the win over Dover on Friday, improving the team’s record to 11-0.

Joseph Packowski
Boys Indoor Track, Senior

Packowski, the senior throws captain, had two 2nd place finishes in highly competitive meets this week. On Wednesday, he PR'd by two feet to throw 48' 0.25", and followed it up on Saturday with a throw of 49' 4" at UNH to record the farthest throw by an Astro in 23 years! He is currently ranked #2 in NH, and is now #6 on the all-time indoor shot put list in Pinkerton history.

Tancrede finished in the top 8 for her third straight race with 5th place in Thursday’s Slalom.  She has displayed great consistency and leadership on and off the snow as captain this season.

Marshall broke a school record with 52 points on 20 of 28 shooting in Pinkerton’s win vs Bishop Guertin. He was 10 for 10 from the FT line as well, and is currently leading the state in scoring with 35 points per game.

Gymnastics, Senior

Merrill competed on Vault (8.9), Beam (8.6), and Floor (9.2) at the meet on Wednesday. All of these scores are season-high scores for her. Her individual event scores contributed to the first-place team All Around score of 146.95, beating Pinkerton's team record.

Morrison won two individual events and anchored the winning 4x160 relay at the afternoon session at UNH. He ran a state leading time of 7.84s in the 55m hurdles and a winning time of 6.73s in the 55m dash.

Dunn recorded 8 points in one game against Salem with 4 goals and 4 assists. In 4 games this season, she has recorded 16 points with 8 goals and 8 assists.

Brady Elias
Bowling, Junior

Elias helped the team obtain the 2nd seed by bowling a 200 and 234 for the standard games. He also anchored the baker formats, getting necessary marks in the tenth frames for the Astros to finish in first for the match on Saturday.

Senior forward Jack Crowell had 3 goals and 3 assists in two games last week to help the team get to a 2-0 start on the season.

Girls Indoor Track, Sophomore

Blake started off the season winning the 600m and running on the winning 4x400m relay team, showing versatility and strength as she helped the girls indoor track and field team win the first meet of the season against seven divisional opponents.

James Caruso

Caruso capped a great opening week by going 4-0 with 3 pins on his way to becoming champion of the 215 pound weight class at the rugged Salem Blue Devil Classic.  He started the day by taking out the #1 seeded wrestler from North Andover with a 1st period pin, followed that up with pins against wrestlers from Nashua South and Windham, and finished the day with an exciting 7-5 decision over the wrestler from Spaulding (NH).

Nash was a member of two first place relays and earned an individual first place in the 100 freestyle, qualifying for states in that event, and a third place finish in the 100 backstroke.

Dodd had first place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, qualifying in both events for states in his debut as an Astro.

Stariknok had first place finishes in the 100 butterfly, the 500 freestyle, and her 4x100 relay also finished first. She qualified for the state championships in both of her individual events.

Matthew Morrison

Morrison had a phenomenal performance in Friday’s quarterfinal win over Bishop Guertin, scoring 3 TDs and 1 fumble recovery. His touchdowns included an 82 yard kick return and an 88 yard kick return, while rushing for 107 yards on 10 carries for the day.

Kalisan Marzolf
Girls Cross Country, Sophomore

Marzolf has had an amazing sophomore XC season!  She was our 4th finisher at all three postseason meets including Saturday's New England Championships. She stepped up when the team needed her the most, and her phenomenal performances helped earn the team the NH D1 State Championship and our spectacular 3rd place showing at New England's. She was in the top 10 for all D1 girls at the last two races. Truly outstanding!

Kelsey Dionne
Fall Spirit, Junior

Dionne delivered an incredibly strong performance as a secondary base in stunts as well as a tumbler for PAVC. Not only does she manage the most difficult pieces of the pyramid, she also helped to secure the Cap City Championship last Sunday and the 33rd program title at States this weekend!  The entire gym was talking about her choreography and delivery of their favorite part of our routine at the end of the dance.  She has been instrumental in leading the team all season and is a commanding presence from start to finish in the routine.

Ashlynn Miller
Fall Spirit, Sophomore

Miller was an absolute unsung hero in our routine at states. Her first stunt sequence wasn’t executed correctly and instead of panicking, she fell back to the level of her training and controlled her body enough to hold the counts until the stunt was to come down with the others.  The untrained eye could not see it, but us coaches could. We all stopped breathing!  Had she buckled her standing leg it could have been considered a fall by the officials. Because of her masterful cheerleading, she held the stunt and the officials didn’t even notice. The poise she demonstrated in that moment, is what we train and hope they never have to utilize. She threw some of the biggest passes and delivered a very dramatic piece of our dance. She ABSOLUTELY helped us clinch title #33.

Gustavson ran an amazing race to help us capture the Runner-Up plaque at the D1 State Championship as our second best runner with a time of 17:27.

Groulx has had another fantastic season! Her legendary performance at the D1 State Championship was a huge personal best. By finishing 4th overall, she helped propel us to the team championship. Her leadership as a Senior Captain has been exemplary. She lifts up her teammates and helps everyone perform at a higher level.

Day was an important part of the team's big win over Salem, contributing 8 tackles, two solo and two for a loss, and forcing a fumble while also blocking well as an offensive center.

Natalie Paradzick
Field Hockey, Senior

Paradzick was the lone scorer in the quarterfinal game against Exeter. She has been a consistent presence and threat on offense and defense all year, as well as being a leader on the field and leading by example.

Brady Cuneo
Golf, Sophomore

Cuneo played as the #1 on the team from start to finish as a Sophomore.  His scores were counted in each of the team's 10 matches and he was one of two golfers to represent the team at the NHIAA State Championship at Canterbury Woods.  He shot a (+8) 80 which was good for a T-24 finish out of all golfers in Division I.  Brady bounced back from a tough stretch on the front 9 making 4 birdies in his round and carding a (+1) 37 on the back at Canterbury Woods.

Nastasi collected 12 kills, 20 digs, 17 service points, and 4 aces on the week to lead the Astros to two wins against Nashua South and Portsmouth.

Christensen-Kraft led the way as senior Finn Christensen Kraft won the Kennett Invitational in a time of 16:36.

Folsom has been consistently in the team’s top 3. In addition to winning the freshman race at the Manchester Invitational, she was 2nd for the team (and overall) in the win at the Kennett Invitational on Saturday.

Douglas led the team with landing 7 out of the 8 fish for Pinkerton at NHIAA Qualifier Bass Fishing tournament on Thursday along with a Lunker Smallmouth Bass weighing 2.9 lbs. His contribution resulted in 14 lbs of the 14.9 lbs that was weighed in.

Rolfe had one goal and one assist in the 2-0 win over Windham on Tuesday. She also helped the team keep possession over Londonderry at center mid on Saturday.

Silva finished 3rd overall at the Nashua North Invitational leading the team to a shutout win over Londonderry in the Mack Plaque competition. Her 18:40 was a 5 second PR for the Senior Captain.  This is the 7th fastest time ever run by an Astro at Mines Falls.

Smith had 5 goals and 2 assists to help the Astros win all 3 games this week and remain undefeated.

Frank helped propel the Astros to the finals by going (22/25) 88% on faceoffs and scoring 3 goals in the semifinals against Exeter. He went on to score a goal and go (18/24) 75% at the faceoff X in a loss to Bishop Guertin in the finals.

Danis had a fantastic day at the NH Meet of Champions at Oyster River High School on Saturday. She started the day by becoming State Champion in the shot put for the first time in her career with a throw of 35' 1.5", and ended her day by defending her title and becoming a three-time State Champion in the discus with a school record throw of 138' 11".

Michaud had an upset win over Memorial’s top sprinter in the state in the 100m dash, anchored the meet record setting 4x100 relay, and led the state-leading 4x400 relay team to an impressive win at the Merrimack Invitational. He also dipped under 23 seconds to place 2nd in the 200m.

Senior Captain Wheaton broke both school records in the hurdles with a meet record 14.75s in the 100m hurdles to break her own record. In the 300m hurdles she broke Amelia Graves (2019) and Maria Virga's (2017) record of 45.83s by running 45.77s. She also jumped 5' 4" in High Jump, winning all three events at the Merrimack Invitational.

Michaud hit a three run home run that cleared the left field fence at home, the first home run over that fence in school history. She also had a double, plus scoring 2 runs in the 10-2 win over previously undefeated Salem.

The throws captain competed in all three throwing events in two meets this week. On Wednesday, he won both javelin and shot put, and took fourth in discus at Winnacunnet. On Saturday, he won the javelin with 152' 2" at the Nashua North Invitational. He also took top 10 with PRs in both discus (105' 2") and shot put (39' 6.5").

Sippel had a great week on the track. At the Winnacunnet tri-meet on Wednesday, Hannah won 4 events, the 100m dash-12.79s, the 200m dash and anchored both winning relays, the 4x100m and 4x400m. She then came back on Saturday at the Nashua North Invitational and placed 3rd in the 200m dash with a season's best of 26.87s, a 5th place in the 100m dash and anchored a season's best 4x100m relay of 49.58s.

Davis had an outstanding first week of competition to start the outdoor track season. On Tuesday, Theo was the winner of the 800 starting his season off with a personal record of 2:03.98 in the 800 and also came back to help the 4x400 meter relay take the win in the tri-meet. On Saturday, he was the Pinkerton boys team's only individual event winner at the Haverhill Invitational where he ran another PR in the 800 of 2:01.39. He then came back to help the 4x800 meter relay team win that event.

Jameson Trask
Girls Outdoor Track, Sophomore

Trask had a phenomenal first week of the outdoor season with career bests in shot in both meets, ending with a 30' 1.5" throw (twice) at the Haverhill Invitational winning the FR/SO Shot Put and a 6th place in varsity discus with a huge PR of 103' 8" She is currently ranked 2nd in D1 behind only her own teammate Briana Danis in discus. She also had a career best in javelin on Tuesday in the season opener at home. The sophomore is certainly looking to score at D1s in multiple events.

Bryson has been instrumental in contributing to the tumbling score as well as stunting score. This past weekend she had a perfect routine with all of her stunts in the air. She was motivating to her other teammates and helped to hold them accountable as well as holding herself to a higher standard. Brielle will be a difficult member of our team to replace.

Carkhuff had an amazing routine for her last time competing with PAVC. Being placed throughout the season in stunts that were difficult to execute and making them work flawlessly as a superior side base. Coming to Pinkerton last year halfway through the season she adopted the whatever it takes mindset and blended what seemed effortlessly. Her ability to make any stunt work as well as her recovery ability when issues arise proved beneficial this past weekend when a minor pyramid bobble could have been much worse. We will miss her and her perfect stunt technique next season.

Chinn had exceptional leadership not only this week during the playoffs but over the course of his career. The hours he has spent motivating his teammates, holding them accountable has helped to turn the culture of the program around in a few short years. Additionally he contributed 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists in the semifinal against Nashua North and 13 points, 7 rebounds,  1 assist in the championship against Bedford.

King was a positive teammate at the New England Championship meet held at home on Saturday and competed with confidence, hitting 3 out of 3 routines and receiving 9’s on Balance Beam and Floor. All of her scores counted towards the team’s 3rd place All-Around score at the championship.

“Kiki” has demonstrated excellence all season for PAVC. Her role as a flyer and tumbler for the team is crucial to our success. Kiki is the center of the pyramid for all of the most difficult skills we execute.  In only her 2nd year with this team she has developed into one of the most incredible performers our program has seen. Perez is one of the strongest flyers in the state. She has an incredible aptitude for trouble-shooting a stunt while it’s happening, always knowing how to help her group stay calm and make the adjustments necessary in the moment to succeed. Her intensity and ability to perform and capture attention is second to none.

Corsetto scored both goals in our loss to Hanover this week. He is the tone setter on our team and often puts the team on his back in situations when we're behind (both goals he scored vs Hanover tied the game back up). He works extremely hard every shift and always wants to be on the ice and wants to be the guy who is relied on in the important situations.

Senior wrestler Woods made history on Saturday by becoming Pinkerton Academy’s first NHIAA Girls Wrestling Champion in the inaugural year of the tournament.  She pinned her way to the 170-pound championship in impressive fashion, finishing her Astros wrestling career in the best possible way. Stariknok swam a new school record and a 2nd place finish in the 500, 3rd place finish in the 200 free, 4th place in the 200 Medley Relay and a 2nd place in the 400 freestyle relay in which she swam her entire leg of the relay in the dark after the pool lost power in the middle of the event. Her performance elected the girls swimming team finish runner-up at the NH Division 1 State Championship.

Matson had an awesome game on Thursday against Epping. He had 8 points, 3 rebounds and multiple assists. While Matson was not in the game he was being a great teammate cheering on those playing.

Senior captain Sezgin has been a rock solid leader on the slopes and off. She finished with a team first in 5 straight races scoring maximum points for her team. In addition, she has 3 straight overall 3rd places in the Giant Slalom and a 5th and 8th in the Slalom. She is close to achieving her personal goal of racing at the Meet of Champions,an honor reserved for the racers who finish in the top 10 in each discipline.

By going 6-0 this week, he improved his season record to 28-6.

Danis continued her dominant season in the shot put, remaining undefeated in NH on Saturday through five league meets and a throwers invitational, and has the best throw in NH this season (36' 0"). The senior captain's one time not at the top of the podium this season was in Boston against 177 other female throwers, taking a respectable 6th place.

Bennett took 1st place overall again in the Giant Slalom race on Thursday at Pats Peak in a 9 school race. He beat a field of 70 boys, making him 2-for-2 with wins to start the season. The senior captain is a leader on and off the slopes and looks to lift the boys into the top 3 at the state championship race in February.

Girls Indoor Track, Senior

Wheaton competed in a meet with close to 4000 total athletes this weekend. The Northeast Invitational hosted many of the top athletes in New England. Enroute to a first place finish, she set a Pinkerton Academy school record in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.44s. This also set a meet record. The Pinkerton record was previously held by legendary Coach Carol Quarles' daughter Kiah Quarles who ran a time of 8.46s in 2004. To follow it up, Jordan placed 11th in the 55m dash with a career best time of 7.70s.

Chinn was named the Greater Lowell Holiday Tournament MVP as the senior guard averaged 17 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals a game for the 3-game tournament. He also played tremendous defense on the opponents best player holding Windham's best scorer to 0 in the championship game.

Groulx competed in two meets this week and placed second in both the 3000m and 600m. It was the first time she ever ran either race. In addition, she was a key member of two winning 4x400 m relay teams. Groulx is a leader on and off the track and is always willing to help out the team in any way she is asked.

She is a selfless leader and demonstrates strong leadership to the younger members of our team, lifting them through a very difficult week last week. She is a main base throughout the routine and has the most demanding role as a base in the center of the pyramid. Emily attacks every single task assigned to her with polish and grace.

Main and side base in the routine, Audette has one of the hardest routines start to finish.  Her 3 minutes is Go Go Go!  She is in every section doing the hard lifting, throwing all the tumbling and bringing her athletic performance to life. She is someone you cannot take your eyes off of at the end of the routine in our dance. Jaylan is one of the strongest performers on our roster this season and isn’t afraid to dig deep to get the job done.

Rivard finished the regular season with a 13-1 singles record, and won 12 in a row. She also finished with an impressive 9-3 record in doubles as an important piece in helping the Astros to a 9-5 season record and spot in postseason play.

Beaudoin had a huge improvement in shot put from last year to this year with a personal best of 15’ 10”, more than double his best mark last season.

Briana Danis
Girls Outdoor Track, Junior

Danis set the school record in Shot Put twice this week. The first was on Tuesday at Londonderry (37' 3") and then she smashed it again Thursday at the Merrimack Invitational with a 39' 5.75” bomb. This was also the meet record. As if this weren't enough, she broke her Discus school record by over two feet on Tuesday (135' 2"). Her winning throw of 133' 8" at Merrimack was also a meet record. She is undefeated on the season in Discus.

She is currently ranked #1 in both events in the state, and #1 in New England for shot put.

Marshall batted .667 for the Astros last week with two doubles and 4 RBI. He also provided a huge walk off single to secure the win against Trinity.

Senior Lamphere had 10 points for the Astros. On Monday, she helped her team beat Londonderry 15-4 with a 5 goal effort and in doing so scored her 100th career goal. She finished the week by adding 5 more points against Concord on Wednesday with 1 goal and 4 assists as the Astros beat Concord by the score of 15-4.

Spellman, a senior captain and midfielder, finished the week with 8 goals and 4 assists to lead the Astros to finish the week with a 2-1 record.

Frank, a midfielder for the Astros, won 92% of his faceoffs in a 2-1 week for the Boys Lacrosse team. His efforts have helped in controlling the middle of the field and getting the team key possessions.

Sippel won the 200m dash with a personal best time of 26.85s, while also contributing to the 4x100 relay that ran the team's fastest time in three years at 51.06 and finishing second at the Haverhill Invitational.

Doyle had an incredible week both on the mound and in the batter’s box, throwing two complete game wins, 10 innings pitched, 26 strikeouts allowing 0 runs on 2 hits and 0 walks (in the Bedford game 14 of the 15 recorded outs were strikeouts), batting .364 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI.

Bowler upped her game for us at New England's by upgrading an additional tumbling pass to beef up our over-all impression. She has the most demanding routine for PAVC and delivered it this past weekend with grit and gumption to help the team capture our 13th NE and Grand Championship title. She is point flyer for PAVC and never leaves the front row in any segment over the course of 3 minutes to help carry the scoresheet. “Piper” has displayed tremendous heart and leadership and shows up for her team day in and day out. She truly bleeds PAVC pride.

DiClemente helped the team win its 31st state title on Thursday by putting her big routine together perfectly for the Astros. She helped to carry the tumbling score throwing 2 elite passss. She wears many hats throughout the 3 minutes, starting the routine as a backspot, then moving to a sidebase position in our elite stunt and finally acting as a main base in the pyramid. Sara’s determination was a driving factor behind this state championship for her team.

Dunn scored five of our eight goals in two playoff games. She scored two versus Lebanon and netted a hat trick against the number one ranked team Oyster River.

Scott, the little dynamo in her first year as a part of this program, went from her tumbling role as assigned to basing all of the builds in the routine in just a few short weeks this season. Although Shelby is small in stature, her heart and determination are bigger than life. She has stepped up and into these roles because the team needed her, pushing herself and her capabilities. She is a true team player in every definition. Her tumbling helps to carry our score, she jumps front row and even acts as a back spot in the pyramid. Shelby is unstoppable.

Dionne is a main base and side base throughout the routine throwing the majority of the elite tumbling skills for the team as a freshman. She is in the most difficult part of the pyramid and tackles every piece of her assigned routine with ease. She displays heart and passion at every practice working harder than the day before.

Corsetto has constantly worked hard every game and it was due to his hard forecheck that forced a Londonderry turnover which he scored on en route to a Pinkerton victory on Wednesday.

Perez is a flyer for PAVC and had an outstanding day on Saturday with her routine start to finish. She throws some of the bigger skills and debuted her aerial front walkover for competition. She is in the front for most of the routine in a high profile spot and performed in such a way that demanded you watch her. She used her adrenaline to her advantage in our season opener and kept her composure bringing out her best skills for us, and helped us win the Cap City competition.

Ava Sezgin
Alpine Skiing, Junior

Sezgin led her team in points in the Slalom and GS throughout the Season scoring team firsts in 8 or 9 races. At the state finals on Monday, she was again our top racer in both disciplines scoring team firsts in Giant Slalom (13th overall) and a team first in the Slalom (11th overall). She displayed focus, intensity, and consistency throughout the season while at the same time skiing very fast which is no easy feat. Way to be a leader on the snow, Ava!

Merrill placed 3rd on Vault (9.2), 3rd on floor (9.225), and 6th AA (35.225) on Saturday, helping lead Pinkerton to a NHIAA State Championship win. All four of her event scores also counted toward the team score and were her season highs.

Rheaume scored 8 points in Unified Basketball’s game against Londonderry, and had multiple assists. He was a great team player all season, always getting everyone involved.

Phaneuf has had a consistent season thus far, scoring in each meet for the Astros in the all-around. He also had 45 kills over 4 games and 8 aces, and a steadying presence to the team around the court as the team put pushes towards playoffs.
