Independent Study Students
The Communications Department provides an Independent Study opportunity for students to work with the Director of Communications and Marketing and earn course credit.
Who should consider applying?
- Students interested in careers in journalism, communications, graphic design, video production, or social media management
- Students who have completed the courses offered by Pinkerton in these field and are looking to apply their knowledge
- Juniors and/or seniors with an open block (study hall)
What happens in the Independent Study Experience?
Students are encouraged to take initiative in an area they are interested in. Opportunities include the following:
- Social media content creation
- Graphic design creation -- brochures, flyers, etc.
- Article writing -- Alumnus magazine
- Press release development
- Video production
