Graduation FAQs

  • When is graduation and the rehearsals?


    Graduation is set for Friday, June 7, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Memorial Field on the Pinkerton Academy campus.

    Rehearsals are as follows:

    • Monday, June 3rd, 10:45 am -1:00 pm
    • Tuesday, June 4th, 10:45 am - 1:00 pm
    • Wednesday, June 5th, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Senior cookout to follow)
  • When will the graduates receive their caps and gowns?


    Caps and gowns will be distributed at the third rehearsal on June 5th. 

  • What is the plan if there is inclement weather on June 7th?


    Dr. Powers will make the call to postpone graduation if needed. If a change is to be made, graduation will take place on June 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Field on the Pinkerton Academy campus.

  • Is there a limit on the number of guests a graduate is permitted to have at graduation?


    There is no limit on the number of guests allowed per graduate.

  • Will the graduation be live streamed?


    Yes, the graduation ceremony and the Senior Awards Night will be streamed on Pinkerton’s YouTube channel.

  • Will there be handicap seating available?


    Handicap seating will be available for the guest who is in need of it, as well as ONE family member who will be permitted to sit with the individual. Entire families are not permitted in the handicap section.

  • Will there be additional handicap parking available?


    • Yes, handicap parking will be available.  Families wishing to park in the handicap lot MUST:
      • Enter campus via the Tsienneto Road access road.
      • Have their state-issued placard displayed as they enter the access road (vehicles without a handicap placard/plate or a personalized PA Mobility Challenged Lot Pass will not be allowed entry).
  • What time can I enter the parking lots?


    All parking lots and Memorial Field gates will open at 4:00PM.

  • Can I bring a chair to sit on?


    No, guests are not permitted to bring personal chairs or items as such into/onto the stadium. Guests may bring a blanket to sit on on the field.  The areas behind the handicap seating section will be open to spread a blanket or to stand as a spectator.  We will also provide a limited number of turf-approved chairs for spectators.  

    “Stadium Chairs” for the bleachers will be permitted.

  • Will the concession stand be open?


    Water will be available for purchase.

  • How long is the ceremony?


    The ceremony will start promptly at 6:00PM, and take approximately two to two and a half hours.

  • What is the attire for the graduates?


    Graduates are expected to wear school appropriate dress pants, skirt, or dress, and collared shirt.  Jeans are not permitted.  Additionally, no graduate or spectator will be permitted on the turf field in any type of high heel, regardless of the height as they will puncture the turf.  FLAT-SOLED SHOES ONLY!!

  • Can graduates decorate their cap?


    Yes, graduates can appropriately decorate their caps. Gowns and stoles CANNOT be altered. Additionally, only Pinkerton Academy cords or additional stoles can be worn. Stoles from outside organizations are not permitted.

  • What time should the graduates arrive?


    All graduates should arrive at the staging area (next to the junior lot) no later than 5:00PM. More specific information will be given to the graduates at rehearsals.

  • Can I approach the stage to take a picture when my graduate's name is called?


    Spectators are not permitted to go around, move, or alter any barricade or barrier; and therefore are not able to approach the stage for pictures.  However, a professional photographer will be on site to capture the magical moment.

  • Will the golf carts and shuttles bring guests back to the drop off locations?


    The golf carts will be running, helping to return mobility challenged guests to the Hackler Fieldhouse, but the shuttle buses from the tennis courts will not be running after the ceremony.
