Astro Announcements 9/27/24

Good morning Astros! Here are today’s announcements for athletics and clubs! It's time for the Fall College visits for Seniors!  We have over 100 College Reps signed up to visit Pinkerton. Seniors, college visits will be in the School Counseling Office on the 3rd floor of the Low Building. Go into your Naviance account to register.  Seniors need permission from their teacher(s) before they can come to the School Counseling Office. Want to be immersed in another culture? Sign up for the German Cultural Exchange Program! Chosen students will host a German Exchange student in Fall of 2025 and then travel to Germany in February 2026! All students with 2026, 2027, and 2028 years of Graduation are eligible! If you have any more questions, please see Ms. Flint, Mr. O'Neil or Mrs. Littlefield for more information! Underclassmen Photo Days will take place on October 2nd and 3rd (White and Red Days). Students will have their photos taken during their English classes in the upper lobby levels of the Stockbridge Theatre. Information about ordering photo packages have been sent via email and can be found on the Critic Instagram account: pacriticyb. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Cain in Room Z-415. SEA Environmental Club is having their first meeting on October 2nd, 2-2:45pm in Room 4-102 of the Annex Building.  Seniors- if you have started the year with an unweighted GPA of an 88.0 and meet the necessary academic credits, you have received an email from Mrs. Lemire, inviting you to apply for NHS. Check your email for all the necessary materials, including the application. All applications are due back no later than Friday, 10/11 by 2:30pm via email to Mrs. Lemire. Any questions? Email Mrs. Lemire or stop by Room 430. If you are in NHS already, you do NOT need to reapply.  Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. Winners then may advance to a regional and state competition, and ultimately to the national finals.  If you are interested in participating or want more information, sign up for FLEX on October 8th or 9th with Mrs. Marsden in Room Z-432 or send her an email at smarsden@pinkertonacademy.org . Meetings will be during FLEX on Wednesdays.  All of the athletics schedules for Mack Plaque are under @mackplaque on Instagram or on the Pinkerton Academy Athletics website. Good luck to all the players competing this weekend.  Reminder, Today is an early release schedule and you’ll be dismissed to the gymnasium for the pep rally!
