Good morning Astros! Here are this week’s announcements for athletics and clubs!
Ready to have some fun? The Class of 2026 Class Office is hosting a fundraiser with skyzone tonight, February 16th from 4-8pm in Manchester. They will receive 20% of all the proceeds if you mention Pinkerton Academy. You don’t want to miss out! Ticket costs are about $16 to $21 dollars, the usual price for skyzone. Can’t wait to see you there!!
Playing for Change auditions are happening this Monday, February 19th in room Z-500 between 2:30 and 4:30. Playing for Change is a student-driven initiative which uses theater as a platform to spread awareness about mental health through community outreach. Last year, Playing for Change raised over 2,000 dollars for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This year, there will be 5 student-written and produced plays for this cause. Be a part of something big and come audition to be in one of them this upcoming Monday! Sign up for your 5-minute audition slot and access your audition materials by joining the Playing for Change Google Classroom. The code is 3pzkauh.
Applications are now being accepted for this year's Annual Dance Club Awarded Scholarship. This is a $500 cash award that goes to a Dance Program student. In order to be eligible, students must be involved in the Dance Program in some way during the current school year. Interested students should submit a 500 word essay explaining 1) why they deserve the award and 2) what they propose to do with the scholarship that would expand their dance education in ways that are clearly centered in dancing.
Two copies should be submitted: One of which should not include any student identification. The other should include both the student's name and mailing address. Please submit both copies to Mr. Boccia of the Music Program. Essays are due no later than Wednesday, April 3rd.
Get your friends together to battle it out for a school-wide volleyball tournament, including some infamous teachers, administrator, and security team members! At least 6 people are required to form a team; you can have a maximum of 10 people. The cost is $5 per person and the event will be held in the Hackler gym on March 11th. Reach out to Mrs. Smith in room 6-108-A in the Media Center for information to join, or scan the QR codes on posters around campus.

Applications are due April 5th and will open after break. If you have any questions or are interested in joining, reach out to Mrs. Spinelli ([email protected]) or Mrs. Matrumalo ([email protected]).
