Weekly Update 6/2/2023

June 2nd, 2023 by Tim Powers

Good afternoon,

Our Equestrian Team participated in their state meet a few weeks ago and performed well! The group includes middle school students as well. To see a list of those who competed and how they placed, visit the website.

Assistant Director of CTE and EMT Instructor Mr. Derek Earle has been recognized by New Hampshire Healthcare Heroes as a hero of the southern region. This recognition celebrates his outstanding dedication, compassion, empathy, resilience, and leadership in the healthcare field. Congratulations, Mr. Earle on this well-deserved honor!

Recently math teacher Mrs. Doris Garvey was selected as the winner of the 2023 STEM Excellence in Teaching Award sponsored by NH Society of Professional Engineers for the high school level. Congratulations, Mrs. Garvey!

On May 23rd, approximately 50 students participated in the Youth Day of Giving Back.  They volunteered at several local community organizations. Thank you to the students who participated and to Mr. Konstant and the Citizenship Committee for sponsoring the event.

Information has been sent out to seniors and their families about graduation on Friday, June 9th. If you are interested in attending graduation or have any questions about the day, you can visit a special section on our website. The ceremony will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel; you will be able to find a link to the stream as well as the programs on our website next week.

This Saturday, June 3rd, at 6pm, we will open the doors to our Hackler Gymnasium and welcome New Hampshire's very own Recycled Percussion. Derry was one of only five towns in the state chosen based on showing their town pride. The group will have a  televised visit to the downtown area before they head over to our gymnasium for a free event. Recycled Percussion is set to post more on this event on their social media pages later today, please watch their posts for more information on tickets and entrance to this free event. We’d love for the crowd to be filled with our own Pinkerton community members!

Have a good weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Timothy J. Powers
