Guidelines for Posting on Pinkerton Academy Social Media Pages
Pinkerton Academy’s social media pages focus on celebrating our school, students, and staff, as well as sharing important news and communicating event information. We encourage you to share your support, connect with other supporters, and visit frequently for news and updates.
While everyone is welcome and encouraged to comment, our first priority is to protect students, staff, and community members. Comments and/or posts that do not follow our outlined guidelines will be subject to removal.
The motto of Pinkerton Academy is courtesy, respect, responsibility. We hold our students to these tenants and expect the same of visitors to our pages.
Be courteous.
Please be certain that your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and page visitors of all ages. Also, please be aware that much of our content is student-created, and be considerate of this when responding to posts. Inappropriate comments will be removed.
We encourage conversation but not airing personal issues. Social media pages are not intended to circumvent regular communication channels for sharing personal issues and concerns. Comments regarding a personal issue with the school or a staff member will be removed.
Please keep comments relevant to the topic at hand. Off-topic, irrelevant comments will be removed.
Be respectful.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for obscene, graphic, or sexually explicit comments or submissions, as well as any comments or submissions that in any way disparage or demean based on race, disability, religious affiliation, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We do not allow comments that are abusive or hateful. Such comments will be removed.
We do not allow any solicitations or advertisements or political commentary or campaigning. We do not allow attempts to defame or defraud any person, organization, or agency, nor do we allow comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity. These comments will be removed.
Personal attacks and offensive comments will not be tolerated. Inappropriate remarks and profanity will be removed.
Be responsible.
Be factual. Blatantly inaccurate information will not be allowed. False information will be removed and factual information will be posted.
All comments and communication must come from a verifiable account. Comments made by individuals who are misrepresenting themselves, representing themselves as someone other than themselves, or from unverifiable accounts will be removed.
You take personal responsibility for your comments, your username, and any other information provided. You participate at your own risk. Students may be subject to disciplinary action for inappropriate actions on social media.

External links on our social media sites do not constitute official endorsement on behalf of Pinkerton Academy.
Social media should not be used to make formal inquiries, requests, or complaints about the school, its employees, or its students. For official correspondence, please call (603) 437-5200. Page visitors should not rely on or expect responses to every question or comment posted on this page.
Our social media accounts are not monitored 24/7. If you’re a student in crisis or have an emergency, please call 911. We update and monitor social media accounts intermittently throughout the day—from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At times, our accounts may be used before and after these times to communicate about specific issues or respond to inquiries from members of the public.
Pinkerton Academy’s Acceptable Use Policy for Digital & Electronic Communication for Students set forth in the Student Planner and the Social Media Acceptable Use Policies set forth in its Professional Employee Handbook and Support Staff Employee Handbook apply to submissions and comments posted on Pinkerton’s social media pages.
