How do students under 16-years-old get a New Hampshire Youth Employment Certificate?

First, the student finds a job. Once a student is hired, working papers must be on file within three business days at the employer's place of business. Working Papers are completed by either  Parents of the minor OR Pinkerton Academy after the determination of a satisfactory level of academic performance of the student.  WORK PERMIT PROCESS ( UNDER THE AGE OF 16)

  • The Student finds a job.
  • Then a NH Youth Employment Certificatehas to be completed for the student. The form should include all applicable employment information such as Employer Name, Federal EIN number, job description/ position and employment address.
  • This form can be completed by a parent/guardian OR the CTE office at Pinkerton Academy. 
  • Parents complete the adequate health question on the form.
  •  If the student is enrolled at Pinkerton Academy, this form needs to signed off by the CTE office at Pinkerton Academy. Located in room 5-214 of the low bldg.

 

EMPLOYERS REQUEST FOR CHILD LABOR

1.)The Student find a job.

2.) The employer completes anEmployer's Request for Child Labor  & gives it to the student.

3.) The student takes that form the CTE office or to their parent, to obtain a signed permit , after the determination of a satisfactory level of academic performance by the student. The youth takes the completed permit back to the employer. 

The Employer Request for Child Labor form can be processed by CTE office on school days. Students can come before/after school or during a study period. During school vacations, students should call the office at 603-437-5200 x 1172/1173 to make an appointment.

Do students over the age of 16-years-old need to get a New Hampshire Youth Employment Certificate?

Yes. For students who are 16 or 17 years of age, students should have their parents sign and complete this form on their behalf.
