Michael Perez named next Pinkerton Academy Associate Head of School

February 14th, 2023

Pinkerton Academy Head of School Dr. Timothy J. Powers has announced that Michael Perez will be the next Associate Head of School. Perez is currently the Assistant Principal at Campbell High School in Litchfield and was recently named Assistant Principal of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of School Principals. He will start in the role July 1, 2023 and is eager to be a part of the Pinkerton community.

“Pinkerton has always had a great reputation in all areas of a school environment,” Perez said. “I am excited to be a part of and contribute to that great reputation, and I am looking forward to the challenges of a larger school.”

Throughout his career in education, Perez has held various positions in districts throughout the state. He began as a paraeducator at Merrimack High School before teaching Social Studies at Pinkerton Academy for 3 years. He then spent several years in Nashua working as a case manager for an At-Risk program and working with Special Education students. Transitioning to administration, he served as the Dean of Students in Dover for 2 years before moving to Campbell High School. This diverse set of experiences will support the work of his new role, and he is looking forward to connecting with the Pinkerton community.

“I feel like one of my strengths has been building relationships with all members of a community. My common practice has always been an open-door policy,” Perez said. “I am always willing to listen and collaborate to find solutions to situations that may occur.  I work to be visible in any community that I am in and to build positive trusting relationships.”

Head of School Timothy Powers says Perez brings a unique set of experiences to the administrative team that will complement it well.

“We are fortunate to be able to bring someone in who has the necessary experience to both take on the responsibilities of the position right away and also bring new perspectives,” he said. “I am confident that Mike will be a good fit for our community immediately and also push us to grow and challenge ourselves in new ways.”
