Weekly Update 4/7/23

April 7th, 2023 by Tim Powers

Good afternoon,

Last week and again earlier today, Mrs. Tartarilla sent an email about our upcoming Stage II Evacuation Drill scheduled for Friday, April 14th. This will be an important opportunity for us to practice our emergency procedures in the event we need to evacuate campus. It will also be a chance for us to check our emergency communication procedures. Please review the email Mrs. Tartarilla sent for more information.

We are at the halfway point of second semester and progress reports are being issued through ASPEN today. Progress reports are a snapshot of where you are at this point in time and there is still time to improve grades and lots of learning left to occur.

During the months of January and February, students selected their courses for the 2023-24 school year. The course verifications have been sent to students and parents/guardians for review. Please take a moment to review the selections of your student.

Pinkerton’s first-ever Esports team placed third at an NHIAA exploratory event this weekend, beating Londonderry! We are excited to see where this program will go in the future.

Congratulations to our Special Olympics teams who won gold in the 5v5 and silver in the 3v3 Basketball Championships this past weekend! Go Astros!

This past weekend Student Council hosted the second annual Astrothon overnight fundraiser raising $21, 780 for the Every Child Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital. We are so proud of the efforts of all the students who fundraised and attended this great event! Awesome job!

On Saturday, March 25,  2023, 26 students from Pinkerton's chapter of HOSA, Future Health Professionals, attended the NH HOSA State Leadership Conference at Concord High School. Students attended workshops and were able to network with their peers; in addition, they participated in competitive events. They have been preparing for these events since November.  Nineteen students were awarded medals  (listed below) and are eligible to attend the NH HOSA International Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX this coming June. You can find a list of all the awards won by our students on the website.

Have a good weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Timothy J. Powers
Head of School
