Good afternoon,

I hope the school year has started well for you. With Mack Plaque weekend, we are back in the full swing of the school year. It is great to see our student body, faculty, and staff participating in the themes each day. It would be great to see our greater community participate as well. If you do, tag us in your social media post! You may have heard of the friendly wager between Mr. Black and Mr. Barnes of Londonderry and Mr. Perez and me. Be on the lookout next week for the congratulatory video to the school that wins the Mack Plaque. The golf team defeated Londonderry last week, boys and girls cross-country travel to Londonderry today, and the rest play this Friday and Saturday at LHS. Cheer has its Mack Plaque event at the State Tourney in November. Go, Astros!

The building project continues to be on budget and on time. The windows have been installed and glass installation at the entranceways will begin in the coming weeks. Flooring has been laid in 2nd-floor classrooms and the 3rd floor is underway. Once the classrooms are completed, they will shift to the hallways. Tile work in the bathrooms is nearing completion and the elevator has been installed. The final painting is starting on the 3rd floor and will work from the top floor down. Next week, site work will begin to prep and get the areas around the building ready for us to reclaim that space. The timeline is for the building to be completed this December and we will be moving NECC and ACT classes in there for our return after the December break. Social Studies classes will be transitioning to the new space for the start of 2nd semester, in January. 

Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm is our Meet the Teachers event. I hope that you take this opportunity to get a sense of your student’s day on campus and to meet their teachers. You can find more information on the homepage of our website. 

The Start Time Committee will meet again in November. We will continue to look at the possibilities of a later start time for Pinkerton.
