Weekly Update 10/18/24

October 18th, 2024 by Mike Perez

Hello Pinkerton Community,

We've completed another week and are now looking forward to a fantastic weekend ahead. This weekend at the Stockbridge Theatre, you can catch Dandelion Wine with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

This week I would like to spotlight the Athletic Department with the three members who organize and coordinate all of the athletic programs here on and off campus.

Mr. Brian O'Reilly, a longtime member of the Pinkerton Academy community since 1975, currently serves as our athletic director. He has a distinguished career as a Social Studies teacher and coach, including 50 years as the football coach, 37 years as the boys lacrosse coach, and one year as the outdoor and indoor track coach. Mr. O'Reilly has earned numerous state awards and has been inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Mr. Jeff Sojka, a 2003 graduate of Pinkerton Academy, serves as our assistant athletic director. He began his career here in 2008 as a paraeducator before transitioning to a PASSES case coordinator and social studies teacher. In 2010, he joined the social studies department full-time and was appointed assistant athletic director in 2016. Mr. Sojka has coached boys volleyball, indoor and outdoor track, and currently coaches our golf team.

Mr. Derek Beaupre has joined our team as the new administrative assistant to athletics.  He does report that he is working for the two coolest guys on campus!!!! Derek, a graduate of Amesbury High School in Massachusetts, attended Plymouth State College where he majored in Sports Management and Professional Sales. He has experience mentoring freshman students and recently completed an internship with the NH Fisher Cats in the sales department that involved dressing up as the Fungo, the mascot.
