Weekly Update 10/4/24

October 4th, 2024 by Mike Perez

Hello Pinkerton Community,

With Mack Plaque weekend behind us and leaves starting to change on campus, fall has officially arrived at Pinkerton. Now that we have settled back into a routine, I want to encourage all students to check Aspen and be sure they’re on track with their progress in their classes. Check in with your teachers if you’re unsure about things.

I’d also really like to challenge each student to find a way to get involved on campus. Pinkerton has so many ways to make connections on campus, whether it’s a club or team, and getting involved outside of the classroom helps students feel like they are part of the larger community. You can find our clubs/organizations on our athletic teams on our website, and if there’s an interest you have that’s not represented in a club, come see me about getting a new club started!

We have some great events happening over the next few weeks with the Freshman Reception this Thursday night in the Hackler Gymnasium starting at 6:00 pm, more sporting events all over campus, and the fall play performance by our Pinkerton Players October 18th - 20th.  This fall production is Dandelion Wine, based on the novel by Ray Bradbury.

Weekly Highlights:

Freshman Reception: Freshmen are invited to the traditional Freshman Reception on Thursday, October 10th from 6:00-8:30 pm in the Hackler Gymnasium. Admission is free. Freshman only need to bring their ID card for entry. This is a great event, and we cannot wait to officially welcome the Class of 2028!

Color Run: Astros United is hosting our first-ever Color Run. Join us to raise money for mental health awareness on Sunday, October 13th at 11:00 am. Click here to register!

Student ID Cards:  Just a reminder that all  students should have their physical ID cards on them at all times while on campus.  Students now need to have their ID card present to purchase lunch from any of the lunchrooms. ID cards can be purchased in the Registrar's office in the Low Building for $5.00.
