Weekly Update 8/30/24
August 30th, 2024
Dear Pinkerton Academy Community,
Welcome to the new school year! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer. It’s been a great several days, first with the whole faculty and staff and most recently having the student community back on campus.
At Pinkerton Academy, we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Whether you are a returning student or new to our community, we are here to support you every step of the way. On Tuesday, the whole faculty and staff sat with Brooklyn Raney, author of One Trusted Adult. Her message is loud and clear, and we here at Pinkerton will continue to strive to be a trusted adult for our student community.
Communication between school and home is extremely important to our students' success. I encourage you to stay connected by regularly checking our school website, attending school events, and reaching out to teachers and counselors with any questions or concerns. Together, we can create a partnership that ensures our students achieve their fullest potential.
September is already full of exciting events from sporting events, Mack Plaque Week, a school dance, fall and winter school play auditions and so much more. We also offer over 60 clubs and organizations for students to join. I am proud to say there is probably something for everyone here on campus.
I am looking forward to a great year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences. Thank you for being a part of our school community, and let's make this school year one of the best!
Weekly Highlights:
Pinkerton Academy Access Control Update:
Please be reminded that Pinkerton Academy is now fully online and has implemented the Access Control System. Students are strongly encouraged to get in the habit of carrying their ID cards at all times. Once all ID cards have been distributed, carrying them will become mandatory for all students.
Voting Day - September 10, 2024: On September 10th the town of Derry will be holding primary voting elections at Pinkerton Academy. We will be having a delayed opening and I will be sending out specific details about pick-up/drop off, campus parking and general information early next week.
Mum Sale: The Class of 2028 and FCCLA are hosting a mum sale fundraiser. These beautiful nine-inch pots cost $9.50 each and come in assorted colors from Delahunty Garden and Landscape Center. To order: Complete and send in the Mum Sale Order Form or visit MySchoolBucks.com to order online. All orders are due by WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th. They can be completed online, mailed or dropped off to Ms. Brown in room 300 or 301 of the Science Building. Pick-up will be in front of the Science Building on Saturday, September 21 from 9-11 AM.
Weekly Shout Outs:
SHOUT OUTS TO…
Our Buildings and Grounds Crew - they have been hard at work all summer to get our buildings and campus ready for the start of school. They faced several unforeseen challenges, but still managed to get everything in top shape for our opening days!
STUDENT SHOUT OUTS:
Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class Officers - they did a great job presenting at each of their class assemblies, sharing about what’s ahead for the year!
Regards,
