Weekly Update 10/20/2023

October 20th, 2023 by Mike Perez

Pinkerton Family and Friends,

I trust this letter finds you in good health and prepared for the approaching colder weather coming our way over the next several months. This week I am pleased to take a moment to highlight the achievements and opportunities available at Pinkerton Academy’s Center for Career and Technical Education (CTE).

Our CTE program is one of the 26 regional centers in New Hampshire and offers a comprehensive curriculum guided by a dedicated faculty and staff. With more than 70 classes available yearly to 3,000 students, our center stands out among the rest. Over 700 upperclassmen are enrolled in 18 two-year, double-period programs, engaging in hands-on learning experiences that use state-of-the-art equipment within simulated workplace environments.

At Pinkerton CTE, education goes beyond the classroom, offering both academic and career-oriented courses. Students benefit from internships, job shadowing, and on-the-job training, earning industry credentials and college credits while exploring their interests and talents in an interactive setting.

The benefits of enrolling in a CTE program at Pinkerton Academy are many:

  • Employability Skills: CTE students acquire skills crucial for success in the workplace.
  • Real-world Application: Core academic subjects are taught in practical, real-world settings.
  • Hands-on Training: Opportunities for job shadowing and internships provide valuable real-world experience.
  • Industry Credentials: Students can obtain nationally recognized certifications.
  • College Credits: CTE students can earn college credits at little or no cost.

Additionally, Pinkerton offers Dual Enrollment Programs such as Early College, ESTART, and Concurrent Enrollment Programs including Running Start, SNHU in the High School, and UNH First Step. These credit-bearing programs allow high school students to take college courses, either on campus or within the high school, earning post-secondary credits alongside their high school education.

Pinkerton CTE empowers students to take a strategic approach to their education, jumpstarting their college and career plans. We invite you to explore the many possibilities our CTE programs offer and make your education work for you at Pinkerton CTE.
