Last Monday, the Pinkerton Academy Math Team competed at the 50th New Hampshire State Math Meet. There were 39 schools at the competition and our team took 6th place in the Large Division. Every year, students are chosen to participate in the American Region Mathematics League competition based on their performance at the state meet. This year, Boris Hadjiev '26 has been invited to participate in the competition. Competition members: Senior Captains: Luke Abanilla, and Mira Kondor. Freshmen: Zachary Greenberg, and Shiv Patel. Dr. Powers may not be a natural artist, but he recently learned a bit more about Graphic Design when he attended Ms. Hult's class. The students were very knowledgeable and helped him through the process of creating a digital design. Our Fine Arts Department offers many classes to meet students' diverse needs and interests, from beginner to advanced. Pinkerton Academy's Career and Technical Education Center proudly announces the induction of 95 students into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) for the 2023-2024 school year. These students have been chosen for their exceptional academic achievements, leadership qualities, and dedication to their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Among them, there is representation from each of Pinkerton’s 18 recognized CTE programs. To qualify for NTHS, students must be in the final year of their CTE program (Level 2), maintain a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 (85) by fall progress reports, achieve a grade of 90 or higher in their CTE program by fall progress reports, and maintain the highest standard of personal and professional conduct at all times. 🧬 Experiment Time! 🔬 A-level physics wrapped up their 2-dimension motion unit in December. Students calculated the position and then placed rings for a projectile to move through. They then participated in the annual siege day. #TogetherWeArePinkerton #GoAstros

🇺🇸 Student Council and NHS visit Washington, D.C. 🌎 Members of Student Council and the National Honor Society recently attended the LEAD Conference in Washington, D.C. Sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the conference seeks to provide student leaders with opportunities for peer learning, expertise-sharing, and networking. While they were there, they did some sightseeing, including a visit to the Pentagon. I teach Chemistry and Biology. 🏆 Academic Achievements: I have a B.A. in Biology from UVM, and received a post baccalaureate teaching certificate from NHTI. 🔴 How many years at Pinkerton? This is my fifth year teaching at Pinkerton. 🌴 Favorite place to visit? Any national park! Yosemite is probably my favorite though. 🎶 Favorite artist? Current favorite is probably The Menzingers. 👩‍🏫 Fav part of your job? Connecting with students and sharing an appreciation for all things science. Also, my fellow teachers are pretty great! 🐶 Favorite Activity? Mrs. Chaplin and I love hiking with our dog Birdie, so we are outside any chance we get. #TogetherWeArePinkerton #GoAstros
