Monthly Update - November 2024

November 26th, 2024 by Tim Powers

Good afternoon,

As we head into Thanksgiving Break, I’m happy to provide the monthly update on the construction project. Phase 1 of the building project is nearing completion, and we are pleased to share that the project continues to be on budget and on time. The current name of the building will be the Social Studies Building, and we are excited to see the progress on the work that continues inside. Casework on the 3rd floor is complete, the 2nd floor is 90% finished, and the classrooms on the first floor are 95% complete. Interior painting in the stairwells is nearing completion and touch-up painting throughout the building is being done.

Whiteboards in the classrooms are being installed and when the Smartboards arrive, they will be hung. Cameras and speakers are being installed inside and we will be working on the outside installation as well. The HVAC has been tested and balanced, and the generator has been installed and checked. The punch list starts on December 5th to transition the ACT and NECC programs into the building over the break and allow for the students to be in the new classrooms after the break.

As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible community we share at Pinkerton. I am continually inspired by the dedication and resilience of our students, faculty, staff, and parents/guardians. Your unwavering commitment to learning, growth, and supporting one another builds an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

I am especially grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such talented and passionate staff and educators who go above and beyond to support our students every day. Their dedication to fostering a love of learning and creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture is transformative in the lives of our students.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents and guardians for their partnership in their children's education. Your support and encouragement are invaluable; together, we create a strong foundation for our students' success. This community support was on full display this morning as the Derry Village Rotary presented items they collected for our Families in Need program. Thank you to all who support our community in various ways.

As we reflect on the year, let us also take time to give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. May this Thanksgiving be filled with joy, gratitude, and cherished moments with loved ones.

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and restful Thanksgiving break.

Sincerely,

Dr. Timothy J. Powers
