Weekly Update - 3/10/23
March 10th, 2023
Good afternoon,
March is Music in our Schools Month, and last night the Choral concert highlighted Pinkerton’s outstanding program. In addition to beautiful performances from the Academy Singers, Select Choir, and Chorale, the teachers and students also shared parts of their curriculum with the audience, highlighting the learning that takes place in the classes. It was great to see the work that our students and teachers put in to develop their talent and become true musicians.
Tomorrow is the Clark Terry Jazz Festival at UNH and the Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, and Select Choir will be attending for the day. All of the groups will perform and also get to see professional performances throughout the day.
The Pinkerton Players will compete in the NHETG Regional Drama Festival at Windham High School this Saturday with scenes from the fall production of The Glass Menagerie. The performance will take place during the first block of the festival which begins promptly at 9:15 am. All are welcome to attend, but there will be no late entrances. Ticket prices are $5 for the block.
Last night the Spirit team placed second in the state championships. Congratulations on another outstanding season! This weekend the gymnastics team competes for the New England title on Saturday at home at 1:00 pm. Let’s fill the stands with red and white! The Boys Basketball team plays for the championship at UNH at 7:00 pm on Sunday. You can purchase tickets for the game in advance here: https://gofan.co/app/events/943504?schoolId=NHIAA. Good luck to both of our teams! Go, Astros!
Don’t forget to turn your clock ahead! Have a good weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Timothy J. Powers
Head of School
