Weekly Update - 2/17/23
February 17th, 2023
Good afternoon,
Last week Student Council put on a great winter dance that also featured activities for those who might want something a bit different. With a movie playing on the scoreboards and a court dedicated to glow-in-the-dark lawn games, there were options for everyone who might want a break from the dance floor. It was a great event all around. Well done and congratulations to the Student Council and Mr. Breda.
The Class of 2024 hosted the annual Milli Vanilli lip sync contest on Wednesday night in the Stockbridge Theatre. It was a night of entertainment with several great acts. Congratulations to the senior class officers for their winning performance and to the junior class and their advisors for putting on a great event.
This past weekend, Pinkerton teams competed in several state championships. The gymnastics, girls track, and JV cheer teams all won their state titles. Chris Bennett, a member of the alpine ski team, won his 3rd consecutive D1 slalom individual championship. He will go on to represent Pinkerton in the Meet of Champions along with Emma Tancrede, the top finishing girl for the Astros. Our girls swim team placed second in the state championship, the best finish in the history of their program. Congratulations to all of these athletes.
Clearly, it has been a very difficult week for our school community. We would like to thank several local police departments that provided comfort dogs for our students and staff today. We are deeply grateful for the support of our broader community, especially in these times. The kind words and gestures of parents, other schools, and community partners have been a comfort this week. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Timothy J. Powers
Head of School
