Weekly Update 12/9/22
December 9th, 2022
Good afternoon,
Last weekend the Pinkerton Players performed their winter play Clue in the Stockbridge Theatre. The cast and crew did an amazing job; their performances are always beyond a high school level. Congratulations to all the students involved in the cast and crew and to Director Mrs. Mykytyn and Stage Manager Mr. Lemire.
On Saturday, November 19th, several Pinkerton music students participated in the NH All-State Music Festival auditions at Manchester Memorial High School. The following students were selected to perform in the Festival:
Mabel Backman, Rosalie Casavant, Debrah Hernandez, Lorelei Stahl, James Bridges, Josiah Sumner, Landon Sprague, and Jonathan Uber will sing in the Mixed Choir, and Charlotte Dugan and Kaylee Gifford will sing in the Treble Choir. Samantha Shone, Bee Stevens, Jamie DiSalvo, Elliot Lempke and Karter Hanley will perform in the Concert Band and Sage Konick, Rebecca King and Natalie Helie will perform in the Orchestra. The All-State Music Festival will be hosted by Concord High School in April.
Based on their All-State scores, the following Pinkerton students were selected to perform in the NH Chamber Music Festival at UNH in January: Jamie DiSalvo, Haeley McCullough, Debra Hernandez, Jacob Lebroda, Karter Hanley, Elliot Lempke, Sage Konick, Natalie Helie and Samantha Shone. Congratulations to these talented musicians!
This coming week the Fine Arts Department will hold two concerts in the Stockbridge Theatre. Monday at 7:00 pm is the Instrumental Concert and on Thursday at 7:00 pm is the Choral and Bell Choir Concert. Come enjoy our excellent student performances ahead of the holidays.
Thank you to all who helped make Pinkerton’s Day of Giving so successful! Over 275 donors – alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends – joined forces over the course of 24 hours and raised over $37,000 for different areas across campus. Donors directed their philanthropy to all aspects of Pinkerton: teaching support, clubs and organizations, athletics, the CTE program, scholarships – the Families in Need Program raised over $2,700!
This incredible support also helped to unlock the $10,000 Board of Trustees challenge, which was generously offered by individual contributions of members of the Board. At the end of the day, the Board members were so impressed by the success of the day that they came together to add an additional gift, bringing their total personal contributions to $14,273!
Students also got involved by taking pictures, signing thank you cards, and participating in the Astro Scavenger Hunt. 10 mini Astros were found around campus and students chose to designate gifts to several different clubs, athletics, Families in Need Program and the CTE program.
Enjoy the weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Timothy J. Powers
Head of School
