Weekly Update 6/16/2023
June 16th, 2023
Good afternoon,
Last month our track team competed in the D1 Championships. Pinkerton athletes won in the following events: Boys 4x100, Boys 4x400, Contessa Silva 3200m, Jordan Wheaton 100m hurdles, and Briana Danis discus.
Recently several of our Latin students have competed and earned various honors. At their various levels on the NH state Latin exam contests, Noelle Touma and Bridget Williams have tied for fourth place, Karter Hanley, Amelia Guevara, and Tyler Abrantes third, and Mīra Kondor and Maura Covino first. Maura and Mīra also placed first & second respectively on the state mythology exam. On this year’s National Mythology Exam, S. King has achieved a magna cum laude award and Mīra Kondor and Maura Covino maxima cum laude silver medals. Last, Karter Hanley has been named a National Latin Exam scholar. One of just sixteen to achieve this in the country each year, this is the highest plaudit awarded in the field to high schoolers.
Congratulations to this year's Pinkerton Academy EMT students who all passed their practical exam! These students were run through 4 challenging scenario-based assessment stations: Patient Assessment, Airway Management, Splinting, and Femur Traction Splinting. For the first time ever, each student passed each skill on the first attempt with no retakes needed! Congratulations to Emma Adrien, Audrey Brecheen, Aili Carney, Sofia Convey, Emma Dennehy, Majda Elyamani, Sofia Lebroda, Briar Lewis, and Meghan Roemer (Pelham High School). Congratulations as well to their teacher, Mr. Derek Earle!
This past week we held a few smaller graduation ceremonies on campus for students in various programs. We are proud of the options that we have for students to find different paths to graduation. Thank you to all the staff who support our students along the way and help them achieve success.
Next week we will send a construction update and there will be a communications survey coming in the following weeks. Underclass exams continue next week, but summer vacation is in sight!
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads and father figures in our Pinkerton community.
Have a good weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Timothy J. Powers
Head of School
