Weekly Update - 11/11/22
November 11th, 2022
Good afternoon,
On this day, it is important for us to recognize and thank the veterans who have served our country. We are fortunate to have many employees, alumni, and extended family members who have served, and we are grateful for the sacrifices they have made. Thank you.
This morning the Class of 2026 hosted the annual Veterans Day Breakfast. This tradition at Pinkerton started in the fall of 1994, and we are grateful for the opportunity to honor the veterans in our community. Thank you to the Class of 2026 officers and everyone who helps contribute to the success of this special event.
Last Sunday, Varsity cheer took the floor and won the Division 1 state title, their 32nd one. The JV team was instrumental in making the day run smoothly and this weekend they take the floor for their state meet. The football team hosts Bishop Guertin tonight at 5 in their quarterfinal matchup; note the time change due to predicted bad weather. Saturday, Vex Robotics hosts a competition in the Shepard building. Follow along on our social media for information, highlights, and recaps, of these events and many more!
Tuesday was a professional learning day for us. Days like these, are important for our collaboration and continued learning of our dedicated faculty and staff. These days allow us to grow and learn from each other which results in positive outcomes for our students across campus, in and out of the classroom.
Once again, thank you to all veterans in the extended Pinkerton Academy community.
Enjoy the weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Timothy J. Powers
Headmaster
