Monthly Update - March 2024

March 26th, 2024 by Tim Powers

March 26, 2024

Spring is around the corner, even if the weather lately has not shown it. On campus, we can sense the change as the excitement builds for end-of-the-year events. Last weekend, the Pinkerton Players amazed us with their performance of The Addams Family. The cast, crew, and musicians all delivered outstanding performances, showcasing the incredible talent we have at our school.

Today I got to meet our second therapy dog, Lucy! Like Luna, she’s still in training, but she has already made an impact on our community. It has been great to see the effect the dogs have on staff and students alike. We are grateful for our handlers, Ms. Albert and Ms. Larkin, and the support of the Board of Trustees in bringing this program to Pinkerton.

During the spring semester, our campus is bustling with activity as students, teachers, staff, and the wider community engage in various events and initiatives. Mr. Perez keeps everyone informed through his weekly emails, sharing the achievements of our students and staff members. We take pride in their accomplishments, both inside and outside the classroom. Our primary goal is to support student success in all its forms, recognizing that it can vary for each individual. While some successes, like winning state titles or receiving prestigious awards, may make headlines, we also value the everyday interactions between students, faculty, and staff that contribute to a positive and supportive community. To stay informed, don't forget to read Mr. Perez's updates, visit our website, and follow us on social media. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events and activities throughout the rest of the year.

Our building project is progressing smoothly, within budget, and on schedule. The third-floor construction is nearing completion, paving the way for roof steel installation and MEP rough-ins. Meanwhile, work on MEP rough-ins for the first and second floors continues, and the second floor's light gauge metal framing is finished. Soon, the brick veneer will adorn the south side of the building.
