Pinkerton’s School Counseling Department Hosts International Save A Life Tour
Derry, NH - On March 23rd, Pinkerton Academy's School Counseling Department, led by Director Mrs. Kara Gagnon, hosted the International Save A Life Tour, sponsored by The New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety in collaboration with the Injury Prevention Center at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth.
The event offered Pinkerton's senior students a unique experience using driving simulators that replicated both distracted driving (texting) and driving while impaired. The primary focus was to educate the youth on the dangers of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of any substance and driving while distracted. The event employed a hands-on approach to educate students on safe driving practices, with an emphasis on valuable information that could potentially save a life.
The School Counseling Department is proud to have provided an interactive and educational experience to the students of Pinkerton Academy. The Department hopes to continue fostering a safe and supportive environment for its students and encourages the community to prioritize the safety of all drivers on the road.
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. The School Counseling Department at Pinkerton would like to share this information with Pinkerton students. If any students are experiencing or are confused about whether their relationship is healthy or not can contact Mrs. Donovan for a confidential meeting. She can be reached at [email protected]
